Artsy and SF MOMA A+D Dep.Head Jennifer Fletcher on Fog Fair

Some years back, creative at large, and party planner to the stars, Stanlee Gatti (He planned Kanye Wests proposal to Kim at AT&T Park) took on the mission to create a venue that would promote design culture in San Francisco.

The result of his efforts, and others like Douglas Durkin’s, Fog Fair, brings together the premier dealers and collectors of contemporary Art and Design to Fort Mason center this weekend, January 17th-19th 2014.

Jennifer Fletcher on The NWBLK and N.I.C.E Collective
“Located in a former American Can Factory in the Mission, The NWBLK offers a carefully curated and designed array of furniture, fashion, lighting, and objects, in a space where retail meets gallery. Showing the designs of contemporary artists, craftsmen, and designers, the inventive works on view and for sale sit on the crux of advancements in design and technology. From Christopher Boots’s quartz chandeliers to Luis Pons’s optical illusion dressers to Tom Strala’s origami designs, at FOG The NWBLK shares a selection of some of the most creative individuals and brands at the present.”

N.I.C.E. Collective, Combat, 1999
“This boot is the Duchamp Fountain of fashion design; the former military icon is now a contemporary androgynous dilettante. Urban legend has it that the boots are dusted with Blackrock sand…”
